At Derypol, we firmly believe that the heart of our company is people.
For this reason, last Christmas we made a donation in which we also involved our clients in an Active Africa project that consisted of the construction of a well with an irrigation system and an electric pumping system in Chezi, Malawi.
Objective of the project
This project aims to optimize the irrigation system in the orchards, which allows expanding the cultivable area and increasing the variety and quantity of vegetables.
With this improvement, the congregation that manages the mission is able to increase food production, thus reducing spending in this area and moving towards self-management and sustainability of its missionary programs.
The increase in production guarantees the beneficiaries of the programs the right to an adequate standard of living, as established in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ensuring food, clothing, housing, medical assistance and social services. necessary.
Furthermore, this effort contributes directly to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 2: “Zero Hunger.”
Benefited people
By building this infrastructure, the following people gets a benefit:
- 120 boys and girls housed in the Chezi mission orphanage.
- 265 orphan students who live with relatives or legal guardians and who come to the center every week.
- 230 seniors from the Sunrise program and their dependents, who come to the center once a month to purchase food to complete their daily diet for 1 month.
- Patients admitted to the health center, without resources to obtain food during the duration of their stay in the center.
This project is a testament to our mission to positively contribute to society and our vision of a future where we all thrive together.
From Derypol we want to thank Active Africa for their tireless work and for making possible these projects that bring so much benefit to disadvantaged people.
Together, we are helping to build a fairer and more sustainable future
